Dr Becky is a GMC-registered Doctor and NHS GP, delivering Dermal Filler treatments in Cardiff, South Wales.

Dermal fillers treatment involves injecting a medically developed hyaluronic acid solution under the skin with a fine needle to enhance facial features and plump and fill lines, grooves or sunken areas.

At The Cosmetics Doc, we only use highest quality products.

Dermal fillers are used to treat a range of skin concerns, including lack of volume, deep wrinkles and folds. Popular areas to add volume and fullness include the lips and cheeks.

For smoothing, adding volume, and plumping lines and wrinkles, popular treatment areas include the mouth (smile, marionette and lipstick lines), jawline and chin. Administered correctly by a medical professional, dermal fillers can subtly smooth, soften, contour and tone the skin; restore youthful plumpness and enhance and define your features.

As with all of our treatments, you will have a consultation where Dr Becky will assess your needs, and suitability to determine the most appropriate form of treatment.

At The Cosmetics Doc, we offer the following types of dermal filler treatments:

Cheek fillers – add volume and lift to your cheeks.

Chin – add volume to/enhance the chin area.

Nasolabial Folds – to reduce the appearance of wrinkles that can develop between the corner of the mouth and the chin when production of collagen reduces as part of the natural aging process.

Marionette Lines – to plump up the two skin folds on each side of the nose and corner of the mouth.

Lip fillers – add extra volume and plumpness to lips.

Aftercare Advice

After treatment, it is expected that you will start to see an improvement within two or three days. The full result may be judged at two to three weeks. You will be invited to attend a review appointment at this point, where the success of the treatment may be assessed and adjustments to your personal treatment plan made, if necessary.

You will be provided with detailed aftercare instructions during your consultation, but these typically include keeping the target muscles active for a few hours while avoiding extremes of heat or cold, facial flushing, vigorous exercise, lying down or leaning over for four to six hours.

The treatment may not ‘completely freeze’ the expression, particularly if the extreme effort is exerted to make an expression. This treatment is not suitable for lines present without expression (static lines) only active lines.

There may be only a partial reduction in movement, but this very much depends on the amount administered, the location of product placement and the effect of the treatment on an individual.

Effects last for three to six months (or sometimes longer with repeated treatments). After eight weeks, you may notice movement starting to return.
